Hamworthy Krystallon first delivery 20 scrubbers

Recently, Hamworthy Krystallon announced that the company's seawater scrubber is loading four ships, and the first Italian shipowner Ignazio Messina's ro-ro ship has been put into operation. Hamworthy Krystallon claims that this is the first vessel to operate a washing system in a commercial operation, enabling shipowners to meet the 0.1% sulfur emission limit imposed by the EU port in 2015.

It is reported that Ignazio Messina ordered the first commercial seawater scrubbers in 2010 and installed them on four new 45,000dwt ro-ro ships. Each ship will be equipped with 5 scrubbers, 4 for the auxiliary engine and the other for the auxiliary boiler. The entire unit includes the control system, the flushing water treatment system and the pump.
