Recently, Ford Motor (China) Co., Ltd. has filed a recall plan with the General Administration of Customs. Since April 23, 2018, it has recalled some of the imported 2015-2018 models of Lincoln MKZ series cars. According to the statistics of the company, the mainland of China involved 17912 vehicles.
The reason for the recall was due to the insufficient tightening torque of the fixing bolts of the steering wheel, which resulted in loosening of the steering wheel from the steering shaft, posing a safety hazard.
In response, Ford Motor (China) Co., Ltd. will replace the steering wheel bolts in the recalled vehicles to eliminate potential safety hazards.
In addition, 47 Lincoln MKZ series vehicles were improperly welded to the automatic transmission torque converter stud due to supplier production reasons. The stud may break, and the torque converter is disengaged from the engine flywheel. As a result, the vehicle suddenly loses power without warning during the driving process, increasing the risk of vehicle collision and causing potential safety hazards.
As a result, Ford Motor (China) Co., Ltd. will replace the qualified torque converters for the vehicles in the recall area free of charge to eliminate defects. Inventory vehicles will be sold after eliminating defects.
