Recently, Tianjin FAW Toyota Motor Co., Ltd., Guangzhou Automobile Toyota Motor Co., Ltd., and Toyota Motor (China) Investment Co., Ltd. filed a recall plan with the AQSIQ according to the requirements of the Regulations on the Management of Defective Automobile Product Recall, which was decided since 2014. From the 8th of the month, the following cars were recalled, totaling 61,459 vehicles:
(1) Some of the Reiz cars produced by Tianjin FAW Toyota Motor Co., Ltd. from November 16, 2005 to August 10, 2010, totaling 47,636 vehicles;
(2) Some of the Highlander vehicles produced by GAC Toyota Motor Co., Ltd. from May 27, 2009 to August 31, 2010, totaling 13,752 vehicles;
(3) A total of 71 Highlander vehicles produced by Toyota Motor (China) Investment Co., Ltd. from March 30, 2007 to January 19, 2009.
Some vehicles in the scope of this recall have friction with the end of the airbag in the spiral coil assembly. The continued use of the airbag will cause the airbag cable to wear or even break. After the cable breaks, the airbag warning light will light up. The driver's seat air bag is invalid, and there is a safety hazard. Tianjin FAW Toyota Motor Co., Ltd., GAC Toyota Motor Co., Ltd., and Toyota Motor (China) Investment Co., Ltd. will replace the improved spiral coil assembly for vehicles within the recall range to eliminate safety hazards.
