Marigold dehydration drying technology has made new progress

A few days ago, a new type of marigold dehydration drying equipment developed by Shenyang Yitong Venture Technology Co., Ltd. was introduced. The structure of this new type of belt filter press is simpler than the traditional belt filter press. Dewatering equipment and drying equipment are important equipment in the production of marigold granules, and their energy consumption and efficiency directly determine the pigment content and processing cost of the product. After several years of development, the dehydration equipment has developed from a screw extruder to a long-hair belt filter press. Drying equipment has evolved from pulsed air drying and multi-layer rotary dryers to rotary tube dryers.

At present, the main equipment used for dehydration and drying of domestic marigold is a screw extruder and a multilayer rotary drum dryer. That is, the first use of screw extruder for mechanical dehydration, the moisture content of the material is reduced to about 60% -70%, and then into the dryer, the moisture content of the dried product is 10%. The features of this scheme are relatively mature, but the price is high, the pigment loss is large, and there is waste water discharge. Moreover, the equipment has poor scalability. If the output increases, equipment must be added.

The main problem with this solution is that the dry product output mainly depends on the capacity of mechanical dewatering. For example, for a device with a water removal capacity of 600 kg/h, if the mechanical dewatering fails to reach 60%, the output decreases from 500 kg/h, correspondingly. If the moisture content after mechanical dewatering is 70%, the dry product output can only reach 300 kg/hour.

As the scale of production of marigold grows and competition intensifies, the requirements for product quality and energy consumption are getting higher and higher, and the corresponding requirements for equipment have also increased. Therefore, in addition to the newly developed marigold dehydration drying equipment, the long-wool belt type filter press is used in mechanical dehydration, and the drying equipment has also undergone major changes.

The latest marigold drying equipment is a rotary tube dryer. Conventional drying equipment uses convection drying, and rotary column tube dryers use conductive heat transfer and drying. Its advantage is very obvious. In addition to high conduction and heat transfer efficiency compared to convection heat transfer and low energy consumption, there is no fear of material contamination due to contact between the heat medium and the material. More importantly, due to the non-contact slow drying, the loss of pigment is very low, usually 1-2 points lower than the multilayer rotary dryer.

According to reports, marigold is an annual herb, in addition to its ornamental value, its flowers can extract natural pigments - lutein. It is an additive for foods, beverages and feedstuffs. It is also a natural yellow pigment with rich nutritional value. It is a noble health product and is expensive in the international market.
