After technological joint research, Shaanxi Xinghua Group achieved the standard of technological parameters for the chemical vaporized sulfur recovery unit and produced a qualified product a few days ago. The purity of sulfur is 99.95%. The gasification process consumes 780,000 tons/year of coal, while producing 10,500 tons/year of sulfur, it can reduce 10,787 tons/year of hydrogen sulfide emissions and achieve both economic and environmental benefits.
The recovery unit uses the super-superior Claus sulfur recovery process of the JACOBS company in the Netherlands to treat the acid gas from the upstream methanol scrubber and recover the sulfur in the acid gas containing hydrogen sulfide to produce elemental sulfur. By controlling the oxygen flow rate automatically, all the hydrocarbons and ammonia in the feed acid gas are completely burned, and at the same time, the composition of hydrogen sulfide at the outlet of the super-optimum reactor is controlled within a certain volume ratio. This device combines the dual functions of the production device and the environmental protection device, which can significantly reduce the emission of harmful substances in the flue gas.
This device was completed in May 2011 and put into operation in April 2012. However, because of design flaws, inaccurate flow meters, and unstable oxygen pressure, it has become a “stumbling block†for long-term operation of sulfur recovery. As a result, Xinghua Group conducted joint research on problems found in operational practices and found the main cause of flow calibration deviations. By reforming the steam condensate, an oxygen pipeline is added at the inlet of the reactor, and desalinated water is reformed on the fresh water of the demethanizer tower, thereby providing a guarantee for smooth driving again.
